Outstanding charter with Captain Larry Buckle and Fish Patroll! We had a perfect outing with Fish Patroll out of Manistee. Captain Larry and his first mate were absolutely top-notch from start to finish. We left the dock at 4:30 a.m. on August 17th for a reason—the fishing reports had been excellent, and we were hoping for a great day. By 5:30 we were in about 70 feet of water north of the lighthouse, still within sight of land thanks to the beautiful weather. The seas had 3–4 foot rollers that didn’t bother me, though the younger veterans from the city (our crew for the day) spent a fair amount of time “chumming” over the side of the beautiful Tiara we were on. By 5:45 the captain and first mate already had 13 rods in the water, trolling north at a steady 2.4 mph. At 6:30 everything started going off. We finished the morning with 17 fish on, landing 13 in the box. Everyone on board had three or four solid fights along the way. Captain Larry mentioned he’d recently had a couple of 18-fish days and typically averages 10–12 fish on his half-day and night trips. If you’re looking for as close to a guaranteed, cleaned, take-home catch as you can get on Lake Michigan, book Fish Patroll. You won’t be disappointed!

Excellent trip, and both Captain Larry and Phil were a lot of fun! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be seeing them again!

Captain Larry and Phil were amazing. We caught our limit of walleye and they processed our catch for us. I will definitely be using Fish PaTroll charters again.

WOW, what an awesome trip. This was a father and son Father’s Day weekend trip. Capt. Larry and 1st mate Phil did not disappoint. Fishing was great, they were very knowledgeable, and answered any questions, and were very friendly and engaging the entire morning....top all that great service with some phenomenal walleye in the box, and it was a trip we will remember forever. Looking forward to fishing with Capt. Larry again.
